Ohio starts the morning cold and quiet across Columbus, with frost clinging to rooftops and thermometers at 30 degrees. Wind chills hover near 22, and shaded roads still feel stiff from the overnight freeze.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, skies stay sunny today with a high near 47 degrees and light northwest winds at 3 to 7 mph. Clouds increase tonight, and temperatures dip to 32, keeping that near-freezing edge in place by daybreak Sunday.
Flash freezing can develop on untreated surfaces early. Use caution on bridges along I-70 and I-71 during the early commute.
Sunday brings a stronger rebound. Highs jump to 61 under partly sunny skies. Monday climbs even higher, reaching 70 degrees with southwest winds at 8 to 13 mph.
The bigger shift comes Tuesday. Gusty winds of 40 to 45 mph are possible across central Ohio, creating crosswind concerns for high-profile vehicles and loose outdoor items. Highs surge to 79 degrees ahead of the next system.

Showers become likely Tuesday night into Wednesday, when rain chances rise to 80 percent and highs cool to 64. Additional showers linger Thursday and Friday with highs in the 50s and 60s.
