Cincinnati, OH – A Wind Advisory remains in effect through midnight for parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, as strong gusts continue to sweep across the region Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, south winds ranging from 15 to 25 mph with gusts reaching up to 50 mph are expected across southwest and west central Ohio, east central and southeast Indiana, and northern Kentucky.

The advisory includes major metropolitan areas such as Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus suburbs, as well as counties including Butler, Warren, Franklin, and Clinton in Ohio; Wayne, Franklin, and Ripley in Indiana; and Boone, Kenton, and Campbell in Kentucky.

Forecasters warn that unsecured outdoor objects could be displaced by the wind, and fallen tree limbs may lead to isolated power outages. Drivers, particularly those in high-profile vehicles, are urged to use extra caution while traveling, especially on highways or open stretches of road.

The strong winds are part of a system moving through the Midwest, with conditions expected to ease late tonight. Residents are advised to monitor local weather updates and to secure any loose items outside, including patio furniture and trash bins.

The advisory covers both rural and urban areas, affecting residents from Maysville, KY, to Sidney, OH, and includes cities such as Florence, Covington, Richmond, and Wilmington. As the system moves eastward, calmer conditions are anticipated into early Thursday morning.

For the latest updates, residents can follow the National Weather Service or local emergency management channels.
