Knox, OH – Knox County and surrounding areas are set to experience dangerous heat conditions on Tuesday as a heat advisory goes into effect. Temperatures are expected to feel like they’re above 100 degrees in some parts of the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the advisory will be active from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with actual temperatures forecasted in the mid to low 90s. However, heat indices could soar past 100 degrees, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. An expansion of the advisory is possible as the day progresses.

Residents are strongly advised to limit outdoor activities, stay indoors when possible, and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. If you need to be outside, wear lightweight clothing and take frequent breaks in cool, shaded, or air-conditioned areas.

Officials are also urging the community to check on elderly neighbors and those without air conditioning, as they are particularly vulnerable to extreme heat. Symptoms of heat exhaustion include dizziness, nausea, and headaches. Immediate medical attention is advised if these symptoms occur.
