Cleveland, Ohio – Scorching temperatures and stifling humidity will blanket Northeast Ohio through Tuesday evening, with heat indices climbing as high as 104°F in some areas, prompting a Heat Advisory for much of the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the advisory takes effect at noon Sunday and continues through 8 p.m. Tuesday. Highs will reach the upper 90s with dangerously hot conditions expected across Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark, and surrounding counties. Overnight lows in the 70s will offer little cooling, increasing the risk for heat-related illness.
Sunny and dry weather is expected for most of the weekend, but heat-related stress will be a concern for outdoor workers, athletes, and vulnerable groups. Monday will be the hottest day, with a maximum heat index between 98°F and 104°F across Cleveland, Akron, and Mansfield.
Residents should drink plenty of water, limit outdoor activity, and check on elderly neighbors without air conditioning. Thunderstorm chances return Tuesday afternoon and may intensify by Wednesday, offering slight relief.
Heat advisories may extend into midweek if temperatures persist.
