Cincinnati, OH – Ohio residents are experiencing ongoing major flooding as scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue over the next two days. The National Weather Service reports rainfall totals of 0.25 to 1 inch are likely, which could cause smaller rises in river levels but should not lead to new widespread flooding.

According to the National Weather Service’s Ohio River Forecast Center, the added rainfall is not anticipated to bring new flooding risks. However, it could delay the recession of already-swollen rivers across the state. The flood warnings are in place as rivers remain at elevated levels.

Hydrologic impacts include moderate to major flooding across many areas, including significant portions of southeastern Ohio and areas along the Ohio River. Localized areas may see delayed recession times, as the rainwater adds to already elevated river levels.

Officials are urging residents to stay cautious near rivers and flood-prone areas, as continued rainfall can exacerbate conditions. With additional rainfall expected by Friday, residents are advised to stay informed through official sources.
