The National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland has issued a warning for significant weather activity from noon to 10 PM, especially affecting Northwest Ohio and areas over Lake Erie.
According to the NWS, the storms are expected to intensify throughout the afternoon, with wind gusts reaching severe levels. The possibility of a tornado or two adds to the urgency of the weather alert, as damaging winds and hail could lead to localized flooding in several regions. The severe weather is anticipated to travel southeast, impacting various parts of Ohio into the evening.
Today’s forecast predicts temperatures peaking at 80°F, with an 80% chance of precipitation. Cleveland will experience windy conditions around 4 PM, coinciding with the period of highest storm activity. The storm system is expected to persist into the evening, with rain continuing until late tonight.
Looking ahead, the weather pattern will see a mix of conditions over the next week. Wednesday and Thursday will offer some relief with partly sunny skies and temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to low 80s. However, another round of showers is expected on Friday, with a 45% chance of rain and temperatures in the upper 70s. The weekend will bring a brief respite, with sunny skies on Saturday and mild temperatures in the mid-70s, followed by a return of showers on Sunday.
