Wilmington, OH – Ohioans are preparing for severe weather this Independence Day, with two rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected to sweep across the state this afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the first round of storms will arrive in the early afternoon, followed by a second wave in the late afternoon and early evening. The storms are expected to bring damaging winds and heavy rainfall, with a slight risk of tornadoes, particularly in southern and central Ohio.

The Weather Prediction Center indicates that localized flooding is a significant concern, especially during the second round of storms. Residents in the affected areas, including major cities like Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati, are urged to stay weather-aware and take necessary precautions.
