According to the US National Weather Service Des Moines, a Slight Risk (2/5) of severe weather is in place, with potential for large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes. This weather system may lead to significant disruptions and hazards, particularly in areas prone to severe thunderstorms.

A Slight Risk (2/4) for excessive rainfall has also been issued for portions of northern Iowa. The storms are predicted to bring heavy rain, which may result in localized flooding. The primary window for severe weather activity is the afternoon and early evening hours.
