Kansas City, Missouri – A brief round of light wintry weather is possible this evening across northwestern and northern Missouri, following patchy fog this morning near and south of Interstate 70.

According to the National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill, areas of patchy fog developed earlier today, mainly affecting locations along and south of I-70. Visibility issues were localized and expected to improve as the morning progressed.

Later today and into tonight, forecasters say a light wintry mix is possible across parts of northwestern and northern Missouri. The best chances are expected near the Iowa border, including areas around Maryville, Bethany, and Kirksville.

The National Weather Service emphasized that little to no accumulation is forecast, and any wintry precipitation that does occur is expected to be light and short-lived. No significant travel disruptions are anticipated at this time, though drivers may encounter brief slick spots this evening.

Beyond tonight, the forecast turns quieter. Seasonal temperatures are expected to hold through Sunday morning before a notable warming trend develops.

Looking ahead to next week, temperatures are forecast to climb above normal, with daytime highs reaching the 50s and potentially the mid-60s across much of northern Missouri. Overnight lows are also expected to moderate, reducing the risk of additional wintry precipitation.

Commuters traveling this evening should remain alert for brief weather changes, particularly in northern counties, while those heading into the weekend can expect improving conditions and milder temperatures.
