Merrillville, IN – The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is providing free food to local residents through its Mobile Market program this November. The program offers fresh fruits, vegetables, protein, and grains to individuals and families in need.

According to the Food Bank, the Mobile Market visits different locations across the region each week. All distributions are drive-thru only, allowing residents to receive assistance while remaining in their vehicles. A valid Indiana ID is required, and distributions operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mobile Markets will visit sites including Gary, Crown Point, East Chicago, and Portage throughout the month. Organizers advise arriving no earlier than 30 minutes before the scheduled time to ensure smooth operations.

The initiative, supported by local organizations, aims to address food insecurity and improve access to nutritious meals. Residents can download the full schedule at foodbanknwi.org or sign up for alerts by texting “MARKET” to 219-500-6464.

The Food Bank encourages patience during distributions to help everyone in need. Supplies are limited, so early arrival is recommended.
