Green Bay, WI – A late-season weather system is set to bring light snow to northern Wisconsin beginning Monday night, with Vilas County expected to see the heaviest accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service Green Bay, rain will transition to snow after 6 p.m. Monday, with snowfall continuing into early Tuesday. Vilas County could receive between 1 to 3 inches, while other parts of northern Wisconsin may see a dusting to 1 inch. Light flakes could reach as far south as central Wisconsin, though accumulation there is unlikely.

Road conditions may become slick overnight, particularly in areas where snow accumulates. The Weather Service cautions that snow-covered roads and reduced visibility could create hazards during the Tuesday morning commute.

This weather pattern is not unusual for northern Wisconsin in April, where occasional snow events can persist into spring. Drivers are urged to slow down and allow extra time for travel, especially in higher elevations and shaded areas where roads may remain icy.

Residents should monitor updates from local emergency management and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for potential road advisories as conditions evolve Monday night into Tuesday morning.
