Cleveland, OH – A widespread winter system will move across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania late Monday into Tuesday, bringing several inches of snow and hazardous travel conditions for the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a series of Winter Weather Advisories are in effect starting 9 p.m. Monday for areas west of Cleveland—including Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, and Sandusky counties—extending eastward through Tuesday morning and early evening for communities along and south of Lake Erie. These areas, including Toledo, Bowling Green, Port Clinton, Fremont, Findlay, Norwalk, Marion, and Tiffin, are forecast to receive 2–4 inches of snow, with the heaviest falling between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Farther east, counties including Lorain, Richland, Ashland, Wayne, Stark, Mahoning, Medina, Summit, Portage, and Trumbull are expected to see 2–5 inches, with the most intense snowfall between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. Snow may linger as lake-effect showers through Tuesday afternoon.

Across northwest Pennsylvania—especially northern and southern Erie counties and Crawford County—snow totals may reach 3–6 inches, with the heaviest occurring between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Lake-effect snow showers are likely to continue into the late afternoon.

According to the NWS, slippery road conditions are expected across major highways including I-80, I-90, I-75, I-71, and US-23. Reduced visibility is also likely during the early rush hour.

Officials urge motorists to slow down, allow extra travel time, and check updated road information at OHGO.com in Ohio and 511PA.com in Pennsylvania.

Residents should expect a slow and hazardous start to the day Tuesday, with conditions improving gradually into the afternoon.
