Duluth, MN – A chilly night is ahead across northern Minnesota, with temperatures expected to dip to or below freezing before a gradual warm-up and increasing rain chances later this week, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.
Mostly clear skies will continue overnight Monday, October 13, with widespread lows between 27°F and 40°F. Tuesday will be partly sunny with highs ranging from the upper 40s to mid-50s.
According to the NWS, light sprinkles and spotty showers could develop Wednesday as moisture increases from the south. The best chance for widespread rain will arrive Thursday into Friday, as winds shift from the south and bring warmer, wetter air across the Northland.
Highs will climb to the upper 50s to low 70s by Thursday, marking a brief warm-up before cooler air follows the rain. Winds are expected to increase from the south-southeast at 15–25 mph during that period.
The weather service notes that a gradual drying trend should return by the weekend.
