LANSING, MI – Michigan’s spring weather is bringing a mix of snow, rain, and rising temperatures this week, with a shift from wintry conditions to milder air by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered snow showers will continue Sunday night in Gaylord and Marquette, with temperatures dropping into the single digits. Wind chills may reach below zero, making for a frigid overnight period. By Monday, skies will clear, bringing mostly sunny conditions and highs in the upper 30s to low 40s across northern Michigan.

Monday night introduces a chance of freezing rain and snow showers before transitioning to rain by Tuesday. Temperatures will climb into the mid-40s, signaling a warming trend. However, Tuesday night could see a mix of rain and snow, particularly in Marquette, where precipitation chances are near 100%. Breezy conditions may accompany the system.

By Wednesday, widespread rain showers will persist, with highs reaching the mid-40s. Snow showers return Wednesday night before conditions clear up on Thursday. The latter half of the week will see drier conditions, with highs remaining in the upper 30s and low 40s.

Drivers should remain cautious, especially Monday night into Tuesday, as icy conditions are possible. Those traveling on I-75 near Gaylord and US-41 near Marquette should prepare for changing road conditions.

Looking ahead, the weekend brings drier and slightly warmer conditions, marking a slow but steady shift toward spring.
