Gaylord, MI – Snow showers are likely today across northern Michigan, but a warming trend is on the way as an arctic front moves out. Temperatures will gradually rise heading into the weekend, offering a taste of spring after a bitterly cold stretch.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will continue today, with a high near 18°F. Wind chill values will dip as low as -4°F, making for a frigid afternoon. Winds from the north at 5 to 10 mph could cause drifting snow, especially in open areas. Thursday night will bring mostly cloudy skies and a low of 4°F.

By Friday, temperatures will climb, reaching a high of 25°F with partly cloudy skies. The weekend will see a continued warming trend, with highs near 37°F on Saturday and 39°F on Sunday. While occasional snow showers remain possible, roads should improve as ice melts.

Drivers should use caution on untreated roads, especially in the mornings. Expect icy patches and possible black ice. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts, and prepare for a milder weekend ahead.
