According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, afternoon highs will remain in the mid to upper 70s today and upper 70s to around 80 degrees Friday, accompanied by low humidity and dry conditions. The weather pattern begins to change Saturday as highs climb into the lower 80s, signaling the start of a warming trend across northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio. Dry weather is expected to continue through much of Saturday.
By Sunday, much warmer and more humid air will overspread the region, sending temperatures into the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. While only a 10% to 20% chance of thunderstorms is expected Sunday, any storms that develop could produce brief heavy rain and lightning.
The hotter pattern continues Monday with highs reaching 88 to 91 degrees. Rain and thunderstorm chances increase to 40% to 60%, which could affect both the morning and evening commute in some locations. Residents should monitor forecasts for updated timing as the new workweek begins.
