Fort Wayne, Indiana – After a dry weekend with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, Northern Indiana is in for a cool-down Tuesday as rain and isolated thunderstorms move into the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, highs today and Monday will range from 60°F to 72°F with only slight rain chances Monday, mainly south of U.S. Route 30. Tuesday, however, brings a noticeable change as cloud cover increases and temperatures dip into the mid-50s to low 60s. Breezy conditions and scattered thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the afternoon and evening.

Cities including South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Warsaw could see rainfall totals between a quarter- to half-inch, with isolated downpours possible. Wind gusts may reach up to 25 mph, creating added hazards for high-profile vehicles and outdoor plans.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor furniture, charge electronic devices, and monitor local alerts for any upgraded advisories. Those commuting Tuesday morning should plan for wet roads and reduced visibility in pockets of heavier rain.

Storm activity is expected to taper off by late Tuesday night, but cooler temperatures will likely linger into midweek. Additional updates may be issued if storm strength or coverage increases.
