Fort Wayne, IN – The remnants of Hurricane Beryl are expected to bring heavy rain to northern Indiana starting Tuesday evening and continuing into Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a forecast predicting 2-3 inches of rainfall, with locally higher amounts possible.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest rain is expected from midnight to noon on Wednesday. This significant rainfall may cause flooding, particularly in low-lying areas and regions with poor drainage. Confidence in the forecast is currently low, and further adjustments to the track and timing are possible.

Embedded thunderstorms may accompany the rain, but severe weather is not anticipated. Gusty winds, potentially reaching up to 30 mph, are also expected but should not pose a significant threat. The rain chances will steadily increase Tuesday evening, with lighter rain possibly lingering into early Thursday.
