Fort Wayne, IN – The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Freeze Warning for parts of northern Indiana, effective from midnight to 11 a.m. EDT Friday.

Forecasters say temperatures will fall to around 30°F, with widespread frost and freeze conditions likely across counties including Pulaski, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Wabash, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Grant, Blackford, and Jay.

According to the NWS, these cold conditions could kill crops, damage sensitive plants, and harm unprotected outdoor plumbing. Residents are urged to cover or move plants indoors and disconnect hoses ahead of the overnight chill.

This marks one of the first major freeze events of the fall season for the region, signaling a transition to colder weather as October nears its end.

Conditions are expected to improve later Friday as temperatures rise into the 40s, but clear skies overnight will keep early-morning frost a concern.
