Northern Indiana – For the second consecutive day, breezy conditions with west winds gusting up to 35 mph are expected, maintaining mainly dry weather and pleasant temperatures. Highs will range from 69 to 79 degrees today, with temperatures remaining below normal through early next week.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, the breezy conditions will continue into the afternoon, accompanied by low humidity. A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect today for Lake Michigan beaches in Berrien and La Porte counties, where waves are expected to reach 3 to 5 feet. Strong rip currents and structural currents are anticipated, making swimming particularly dangerous.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will rise slightly, with highs between 72 and 79 degrees on Saturday and a 20-30% chance of isolated afternoon rain showers. Sunday will see similar temperatures, ranging from 70 to 79 degrees, with mostly sunny skies. Monday will continue the trend of pleasant weather, with highs between 66 and 75 degrees and partly cloudy skies.

Residents are advised to stay dry during high waves, steer clear of the pier, and exercise caution due to the hazardous swimming conditions. Water temperatures remain cold, between 60 to 65 degrees, further complicating swimming efforts.
