Fort Wayne, IN – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for northern Indiana, with snow, freezing rain, and frigid temperatures expected through Monday. Drivers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially Saturday night into Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, mixed precipitation will move in Saturday night, bringing up to two inches of snow and a light glaze of ice. Rain may mix with snow early Sunday before temperatures plunge, leading to refreezing and dangerous road conditions. Wind chills could drop below zero by Monday.

Sunday will be blustery, with gusts up to 30 mph and new snow accumulation up to two inches. Washington’s Birthday will be bitterly cold, with highs only in the teens and subzero wind chills.

By Tuesday, another round of snow is possible, keeping travel conditions hazardous. Officials urge residents to use caution, check road conditions before heading out, and dress in layers to prevent frostbite.
