Chicago, IL – Residents of northern Illinois should prepare for continued snow chances through midweek as light flurries remain in the forecast. The National Weather Service reports snow will arrive Monday evening and persist intermittently until Wednesday, particularly in areas north of I-80.

According to forecasters, accumulation is expected to remain light, generally under one inch in most areas. However, slippery travel conditions are possible, especially during the Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening commutes. Temperatures will hover in the single digits to low teens during this time, adding to potential travel delays.

Cold pavement and icy surfaces will increase the risk of accidents, especially on untreated roads and bridges. Residents are advised to monitor road conditions and allow extra travel time.

By Wednesday night, snow chances will begin to diminish as a shift in weather patterns brings slightly warmer temperatures to the region.
