Sacramento, Calif. – Warm, seasonable weather will continue across Northern California through the weekend, providing ideal conditions for outdoor activities across the Sacramento Valley before a slight chance of mountain showers develops on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, dry weather will dominate the region through Saturday with abundant sunshine and afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 80s to upper 90s across the valley. Highs are expected to range from 88 to 98 degrees Friday, 89 to 99 degrees Saturday, and 89 to 100 degrees Sunday.

Foothill communities can expect afternoon highs in the upper 80s to mid-90s, while mountain locations remain noticeably cooler, with temperatures generally ranging from the mid-70s to lower 90s through the weekend.

The only interruption to the dry pattern arrives Sunday, when a slight chance of showers develops over the Sierra Nevada and other higher elevations. Most valley locations, including Sacramento, Davis, Woodland, Yuba City and Stockton, are expected to remain dry.

With warm afternoons continuing, residents planning outdoor recreation should stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day. Those heading into the mountains Sunday should be prepared for isolated showers that could briefly affect hiking, camping and other outdoor plans.

The overall weather pattern remains seasonable, with no significant heat waves or widespread storms expected across Northern California through the remainder of the weekend.
