Jamestown, NY – Nearly 22 years after Yolanda Bindics walked out of her workplace in Jamestown and disappeared, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is again asking for information that could help investigators solve her murder.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Bindics left her workplace shortly after 8 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2004. The business was located near Fluvanna Avenue and Washington Street in Jamestown.
Authorities said Bindics and a fellow employee exchanged goodbyes before she was last seen sitting inside her vehicle in the store parking lot.
She was never seen alive again.
The case took another turn more than two years later. On Sept. 10, 2006, Bindics’ remains were discovered in Boutwell Hill State Forest in the town of Charlotte, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Her death became a homicide investigation that has remained unsolved for nearly two decades since her remains were found.
Now, as the 22nd anniversary of Bindics’ disappearance approaches Monday, Aug. 10, investigators are emphasizing that the case remains open.
The Sheriff’s Office did not identify a suspect or disclose new evidence in its latest appeal. Instead, investigators are asking anyone who may have information about Bindics’ disappearance or murder to come forward.
Even information that may have seemed insignificant at the time could potentially assist investigators as they continue reviewing the case.
