Sacramento, CA — Sacramento residents should brace for intense heat as temperatures are set to exceed 100 degrees starting Wednesday. A heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. Wednesday through 8 p.m. Friday, with temperatures peaking between 100 and 107 degrees across the Valley and foothills.

According to the National Weather Service, the most intense heat will hit Thursday, with highs expected to reach 105 degrees. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., and check on vulnerable individuals and pets during this period. Nighttime lows will offer little relief, hovering in the mid-60s to mid-70s.

The heat could increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly for those spending extended periods outdoors. Cooling centers will be available, and locals are encouraged to take advantage of these resources. As the heatwave persists, power demands may rise, so conserving energy during peak hours is also advised. Expect relief by Saturday, as temperatures are forecast to drop into the mid-90s, with further cooling anticipated by Sunday.
