Duluth, MN – A wintry mix of snow, drizzle, and freezing rain is expected across northeastern Minnesota Monday morning, creating slick road conditions. Light snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are likely in far northern areas, especially near the Minnesota Arrowhead. Drivers are advised to use caution as icy patches may form during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, snow chances will taper off by Monday afternoon, with temperatures falling into the low 30s. Northwest winds will pick up, creating breezy conditions into Monday night, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Snow returns midweek as a stronger system moves into the region Wednesday night into Thursday. Higher elevations near the North Shore could see accumulating snowfall, with early forecasts predicting totals above 4 inches. Residents should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility during the midweek system, especially in northern Minnesota.

Looking ahead, temperatures will drop significantly by Wednesday, with highs struggling to reach 20 degrees and wind chills plunging into the single digits.

Motorists and residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts and prepare for shifting conditions throughout the week.
