Cleveland, OH – A strong cold front will move across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon, bringing gusty winds and scattered showers, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cleveland.
Forecasters say wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected as winds shift sharply from southwest to northwest behind the front. The highest likelihood of strong gusts will occur along the Lake Erie shoreline between Cleveland and Erie, where confidence in sustained winds exceeding 40 mph is greatest.
Light showers will accompany the frontal passage, primarily across northeast Ohio and into northwest Pennsylvania, though rainfall amounts are expected to remain minor.
The NWS advises residents to secure loose outdoor items and use caution when driving high-profile vehicles during the gustiest period Wednesday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will cool slightly behind the front, but no significant drop or severe weather is expected.
