Fort Worth, TX – Strong thunderstorms are set to sweep across North Texas tonight into Monday morning, posing significant threats to the region. Residents along the I-35 corridor, including Dallas-Fort Worth, should prepare for damaging winds, heavy rain, and isolated flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, severe storms will likely develop after midnight, with the most intense weather expected between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday. Rainfall totals could reach 1-2 inches in most areas, with locally heavier amounts possible, particularly in western North Texas. Authorities warn drivers to exercise caution, especially at low-water crossings, and to avoid flooded roads during the morning commute.

Damaging winds will be the primary threat from these storms, with gusts potentially exceeding 60 mph. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Power outages are a possibility, so residents are advised to charge devices and keep flashlights handy.

The threat of severe weather diminishes Monday afternoon, with cooler temperatures expected to follow. Highs on Tuesday will hover around 71°F in Fort Worth, dropping to the 60s on Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s, offering a seasonal cooldown for the week ahead.

Stay weather-aware by monitoring local updates and alerts, and avoid unnecessary travel during the peak storm hours.
