Dallas, Texas – A powerful surge of unseasonable heat is set to expand across north-central Texas into northern Louisiana, driving temperatures well above late-March averages and creating smooth travel conditions during the spring break period.
According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, this region will experience temperatures running 50 to 80 percent above normal from March 24 through March 30, while precipitation trends lean near normal but remain limited in overall coverage. This pattern supports extended sunshine with very few interruptions from rain.
Across Dallas, Fort Worth, Tyler, and Shreveport, daytime highs are expected to climb into the upper 70s to mid-80s, with some locations pushing the mid to upper 80s. Morning temperatures will remain mild in the 50s and 60s. Major corridors including I-35, I-20, I-30, and U.S. 75 are expected to remain mostly dry, supporting steady travel across the region.
Drivers should prepare for warmer afternoon conditions, which can increase fatigue on longer trips. Stay hydrated, plan for breaks, and keep vehicles ventilated during peak heat. Patchy morning fog may develop in low-lying areas but should clear quickly after sunrise.
For baseball fans across Texas and Louisiana, including those following the Astros and Rangers, the opening stretch of the season will feel more like early summer, with light clothing recommended.
This warm pattern is expected to hold through late March, with only minor changes possible heading into early April.
