Oklahoma City, Okla. – A significant surge of unseasonable heat is set to build across Oklahoma and Arkansas, pushing temperatures far above late-March averages and creating ideal travel conditions during the spring break period.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, this region will experience temperatures running 50 to 80 percent above normal from March 24 through March 30, while precipitation trends remain near normal but limited in overall coverage. This pattern supports extended sunshine and very limited rain chances.

Across Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Little Rock, and Fayetteville, daytime highs are expected to climb into the mid-70s to low 80s, with some locations pushing the mid-80s. Morning temperatures will remain mild in the 50s and 60s. Major corridors including I-40, I-35, I-44, and I-30 are expected to stay mostly dry, supporting smooth travel across the region.

Drivers should prepare for warmer afternoon conditions, which can increase fatigue on longer trips. Stay hydrated and plan ahead for breaks, especially during peak travel hours. Patchy morning fog may develop in low-lying areas but should clear quickly after sunrise.

For baseball fans across Oklahoma and Arkansas, including those following the Cardinals and regional teams, the opening stretch of the season will feel more like early summer, with light clothing recommended.

This warm pattern is expected to hold through late March, with only minor changes possible heading into early April.
