Fort Worth, TX – A prolonged cold snap has gripped North Texas, with temperatures expected to stay below freezing in several areas through Tuesday. Wind chills will drop into the teens and single digits, making conditions hazardous for those outdoors.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, high temperatures Sunday and Monday will range from the lower to mid-30s, while nighttime lows dip into the teens and 20s. Locations along the Red River are forecast to remain below freezing until Tuesday.
Residents are urged to protect outdoor plants, pets, and pipes as the frigid conditions persist. Officials recommend wearing layers and checking on elderly neighbors and family members during this period.
A steady warm-up is anticipated starting Wednesday, with highs reaching into the 50s and 60s by the end of the week. Until then, the public is advised to bundle up and limit outdoor activities to prevent cold-related illnesses.
