Grand Forks, ND – A winter weather advisory remains in effect through 6 p.m. today for eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Dangerous travel conditions are likely as strong winds and blowing snow will reduce visibility to under half a mile in open areas. Gusts may reach 45 mph, with temperatures dipping into the single digits by afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, light snow showers will persist throughout the day, leading to icy roads and patchy near-blizzard conditions in rural areas. Motorists are urged to delay travel, exercise caution, and prepare for sudden visibility drops, especially on I-29 and rural highways.

Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies and calmer winds, with highs near 11°F. Friday and Saturday will see gradual warming, with highs of 25°F and 37°F, respectively. Sunday may include a chance of freezing rain before temperatures drop again next week. Stay tuned to local weather updates for the latest conditions.
