North Dakota Crash: Three Teens Injured in Overturned Vehicle Near Mandan

Morton County, ND – A single-vehicle crash late Friday night in Morton County left three teenagers injured and resulted in the arrest of the juvenile driver on felony charges.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:18 p.m. on March 15 along Morton County Road 83, just north of 35th Street. A 2013 Nissan Titan, traveling northbound on the gravel road, failed to navigate a curve, causing the vehicle to overturn after entering the east ditch.

The vehicle carried three 17-year-old male occupants, all from Mandan. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was arrested for criminal vehicular injury while operating under the influence of alcohol, a Class C felony. One passenger, also unrestrained, suffered serious injuries, while the second passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, had minor injuries.

All three were transported to Sanford Medical Center for treatment. Authorities have withheld their names due to their juvenile status.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident. Agencies assisting at the scene included the Morton County Sheriff’s Office, Mandan Rural Fire Department, and Metro Ambulance.
