Greensboro, NC – Hazardous travel conditions continue across North Carolina this morning following Wednesday’s wintry mix, with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 1 PM Thursday. Lingering snow showers and icy roads are expected across the Triad, Sandhills, and Coastal Plain, with slippery conditions persisting on bridges and shaded areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, while major snowfall has ended, scattered snow showers could bring a light coating of fresh snow, particularly west of Greensboro, Asheboro, and Rockingham. Elsewhere, flurries are possible but little to no additional accumulation is expected.

Road conditions remain treacherous, especially in Raleigh, Durham, Winston-Salem, and Fayetteville, where freezing overnight temperatures have left ice patches. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, particularly on highways and untreated roads.

Residents should also be mindful of slippery sidewalks, driveways, and stairs, increasing the risk of falls. Temperatures are expected to rise later today, helping to improve conditions.
