Wilmington, NC – Drivers and early risers should prepare for dense fog as the first full week of February begins. The National Weather Service warns of possible low visibility Monday night into Tuesday morning, particularly along the coast.

According to the NWS, a Dense Fog Advisory may be issued if conditions worsen, potentially affecting commutes along major roadways, including U.S. Highway 17 and Interstate 40. Tonight, patchy fog is expected after midnight, with lows around 44°F. Monday will bring patchy morning fog before giving way to sunny skies and a high near 68°F.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast calls for mild temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Tuesday will be sunny, with a high of 73°F, followed by a partly sunny Wednesday reaching 68°F. A warming trend continues into Thursday, hitting 74°F, before slightly cooler conditions on Friday at 71°F.

Drivers should use caution during early morning hours, allowing extra time for commutes. Stay updated with the latest alerts, and check local forecasts frequently.
