Wilmington, NC – Clear skies and pleasant temperatures will dominate the weekend across Wilmington before a rainy pattern returns midweek. Residents can expect sunny conditions today, with highs reaching the low 50s, making it an ideal day for outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will bring even warmer conditions with highs in the mid-60s. Winds will shift from the southwest, reaching 6 to 9 mph, with gusts up to 15 mph. By Monday, clouds will thicken, leading to rain chances increasing to 30% by the afternoon and 50% by Monday night.

Temperatures are forecast to climb further, with highs nearing 72 degrees by Tuesday. Rain showers will intensify by Tuesday night, with precipitation chances peaking at 80%. Heavy showers are expected Wednesday, with a high of 69 degrees and a 90% chance of rain. Motorists should prepare for wet roads, especially during commutes on major routes, including Highway 17 and Interstate 40.

The rain is expected to taper off by Wednesday night, bringing cooler air into the region. Thursday and Friday will see sunny conditions return, with highs dropping to the low 50s.
