Paducah, KY – Heavy rain is set to drench western Kentucky starting late Sunday, with up to an inch possible by Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin Sunday evening, intensifying overnight before tapering off Monday afternoon. The heaviest rainfall is expected along major routes such as I-24 and U.S. 60, where wet road conditions and gusty winds could create hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are urged to plan extra travel time and stay alert for slick surfaces.
Sunday’s temperatures will peak near 57°F before falling into the upper 30s overnight. Gusts could reach up to 20 mph, adding to the challenges for evening commuters.
By Monday, scattered showers will linger, and daytime highs will reach around 60°F. However, a cool-down is expected midweek, with highs dipping into the 40s and nighttime lows nearing freezing by Tuesday.
Residents are advised to monitor local weather updates and ensure outdoor plans accommodate the rainy conditions. The week ahead promises a mix of sun and clouds after the rain clears, with drier weather returning Tuesday.
