Morehead City, NC – A comfortable spring night is expected across eastern North Carolina as temperatures dip into the upper 50s to low 60s, offering residents a mild start to the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City, Friday night will bring above-average low temperatures across the region, including cities like Greenville, Jacksonville, and Morehead City. A steady southwest breeze will limit fog development, contributing to clear skies and pleasant conditions through the evening.

Cities such as Kenansville and Plymouth are forecast to reach lows near 58–59°F, while coastal areas like Frisco and Ocracoke may remain around 62–63°F. Inland communities including Kinston and New Bern should experience similar temperatures, hovering just below 60°F.

Looking ahead, Saturday is expected to bring significantly warmer conditions. Highs will climb into the 70s along the beaches and Outer Banks (OBX), with inland regions reaching the upper 80s by the afternoon. The forecast presents a sharp contrast to typical April lows and reflects a warmer-than-average trend for mid-spring.

Residents planning outdoor activities should take advantage of the mild evening and prepare for increased warmth Saturday. No severe weather is expected, making it an ideal window for travel or recreation throughout eastern North Carolina.
