Raleigh, NC – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Friday for Raleigh and surrounding areas, with black ice expected to create hazardous road conditions overnight. Temperatures will dip into the teens, and wind chills will make it feel even colder.
According to the National Weather Service, icy patches will likely form on secondary roads, bridges, and sidewalks due to melted snow refreezing. Drivers should use extreme caution and watch for slick spots during the Friday morning commute.
Friday will bring sunny skies but remain cold, with highs only reaching the low 40s. Winds up to 7 mph will keep wind chills in the single digits early in the day.
Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually warm. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-40s and mid-50s, respectively. By Monday, Raleigh could see highs near 60°F, with dry and clear conditions extending into next week.
Residents should exercise caution on the roads Friday morning but can expect improving conditions through the weekend.
