North Carolina – A marginal risk of severe thunderstorms with damaging winds is forecasted across parts of North Carolina Monday. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Raleigh has issued a weather alert, noting that the storms are most likely between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., primarily affecting areas from the Triangle north and east. The main threat associated with these storms includes localized damaging wind gusts that could potentially down trees and power lines, leading to isolated power outages.
According to the NWS, residents are advised to stay indoors during the storm’s peak hours and to secure any outdoor items that could become projectiles in strong winds. While the risk level is marginal, meaning it’s the lowest on the five-tier scale, the potential impact could still be significant, especially in areas that experience direct wind gusts.
Looking ahead, the weather in Raleigh is expected to clear by Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 82°F. The rest of the week is forecasted to remain calm and clear, with temperatures ranging from 80°F to 86°F. Thursday morning might be cooler, with lows around 59°F. The pleasant, sunny weather is anticipated to continue through the weekend, providing a stark contrast to Monday’s stormy conditions.
