According to the National Weather Service Raleigh, a Special Weather Statement is in effect, highlighting the risk for rapid fire spread. The strongest winds are expected Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures climbing into the upper 60s. Officials advise keeping fire suppression equipment nearby if burning is necessary and to check local regulations before lighting any flames.
The extended forecast for Raleigh shows cooling temperatures heading into the weekend. Thursday will be sunny with a high near 59°F, while Friday brings a 60% chance of rain with gusty winds up to 31 mph. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny with highs near 60°F.
