Winston-Salem, NC – A 95-year-old man died, and a 75-year-old woman was hospitalized following a domestic shooting Wednesday morning.
Deputies from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute at 171 Bald Cypress Drive around 7:50 a.m. They found the woman in a parked vehicle outside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to the sheriff’s office, the Emergency Response Team rescued the woman and transported her to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She remains in serious condition.
Deputies entered the residence and discovered the man deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities believe the man shot his wife before taking his own life.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details about the individuals involved have been released.
