Albany, NY – A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Capital District, Saratoga Glens Falls region, Helderbergs, upper and mid Hudson Valley, eastern Catskills, Taconics, Berkshires, and Litchfield Hills. The advisory remains in effect until midnight tonight, with gusts expected to reach up to 45 mph.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Albany warns that these gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects and potentially cause damage. Tree limbs may be broken, and in some cases, trees could be toppled over due to the saturated ground conditions from recent rains. Power outages are also possible as a result of the high winds.

According to the NWS, residents should secure outdoor items that could become projectiles and avoid unnecessary travel in areas where trees could fall. Those in affected regions are urged to stay informed through local weather updates and prepare for possible power interruptions.

Emergency services are on alert, and the NWS advises residents to take precautions to stay safe during the advisory period. The wind advisory is part of a broader weather pattern affecting much of the northeastern United States, bringing volatile weather conditions to the region.
