According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, drier air will dominate through Thursday morning, with highs climbing from the mid-50s Tuesday into the low 70s by Thursday afternoon in cities like Buffalo, Rochester, and Jamestown. The warmest period will hit Thursday from noon to 6 p.m., with Rochester expected to reach 76°F, the highest across the region.
Niagara Falls, Dunkirk, and Olean will see similarly warm conditions Thursday, while overnight lows remain seasonable in the low-to-mid 40s. Conditions will shift Friday as showers move in by the afternoon, especially between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., signaling the return of unsettled weather into early Saturday.
Travel should remain unaffected through midweek, but residents planning outdoor activities late Thursday or Friday should monitor updates. Temperatures are expected to stay mild even as showers begin, with highs still in the upper 60s to near 70°F Friday.
