Binghamton, NY – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Northern Oneida County from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday, with up to 7 inches of snow expected to accumulate.

According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, snowfall will begin late Friday afternoon, intensifying in the evening before transitioning to a mix of rain and snow overnight. Road conditions will be hazardous, particularly during the Friday evening commute.

Temperatures will begin in the mid-30s early Saturday before dropping into the 20s throughout the day. This temperature drop is expected to create icy road conditions as wet surfaces freeze over. Additional snow showers, accompanied by gusty winds, will continue into Saturday, contributing to further accumulation and reduced visibility.

Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling and allow extra time for commutes. The combination of snow and ice may lead to slippery roads and difficult driving conditions.

For up-to-date road conditions, travelers can dial 511 for statewide information. Motorists should prepare for delays and potential disruptions as the winter storm moves through the region.
