Albany, NY – The National Weather Service has issued a warning for potentially severe weather across New York State, particularly in areas east of the Hudson River. Following a morning of patchy fog, residents should prepare for scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout Monday and into Tuesday. Some storms may produce damaging winds and large hail, with conditions most severe near I-91.

Tuesday’s forecast indicates a continuation of these storms, with temperatures remaining near normal for late August. Thunderstorm activity will primarily impact the Hudson Valley and regions closer to the Catskills. Residents in these areas should stay alert for rapidly changing weather conditions.

As the week progresses into Wednesday, the storm activity is expected to diminish. However, lingering showers may persist, especially in the eastern parts of the state. Conditions will gradually improve by midweek, with more stable weather anticipated heading into Thursday.
