Albany, New York – Dry and breezy conditions Monday will quickly give way to a multi-day stretch of rain that could impact travel across eastern New York by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, rain chances increase Tuesday, with the most widespread coverage arriving Tuesday night into Wednesday as probabilities climb to 70–80%. The heaviest rainfall is expected across the Adirondacks and the western Mohawk Valley, where steadier bands could develop.

In the Capital Region, including Albany, Schenectady, and Troy, showers will become more consistent by late Tuesday and continue through Wednesday. Major routes such as I-87 and I-90 may see wet conditions and reduced visibility during peak travel times.

Temperatures will remain mild early in the week, with highs in the 50s and 60s Monday and Tuesday, before cooling into the 40s and 50s by Thursday as rain continues. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s, especially in higher elevations.

Residents should prepare for several days of unsettled weather, including wet roads and slower commutes. Rain chances persist through Thursday, with additional updates likely as rainfall totals and timing become clearer.
