
Albany, NY – Severe thunderstorms are expected to impact parts of New York and Pennsylvania today. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), clusters of strong to severe storms will develop around the Appalachians by late morning and early afternoon before moving eastward across the Northeast into New England by evening.
Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, with some gusts potentially exceeding 60 mph. Additionally, there is a risk of large hail and isolated tornadoes. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of New York and Pennsylvania until 6 PM EDT.
