New York, NY – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of southeast New York, including Suffolk and Nassau counties, from 9 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday. Snowfall is expected to total around 3 inches, creating hazardous road conditions overnight and into the Wednesday morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Northern Nassau, and Southern Nassau. Snow is set to begin Tuesday night and taper off early Wednesday.

Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time in the morning, as slippery roads and reduced visibility could make commuting challenging. The New York Department of Transportation advises checking local road conditions before heading out.

Residents should prepare by keeping winter essentials in their vehicles and staying updated with the latest forecasts. For more information, visit weather.gov/nyc.
