Albany, NY – Snow returns to eastern New York today, with lake effect snowfall hitting Herkimer and Fulton counties. Residents should prepare for snow accumulations of up to 7 inches in some areas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Travel on roads such as NY-28 and NY-30 could be impacted by hazardous conditions.
The NWS warns that additional snowfall of 1-3 inches is possible today, bringing total snow accumulations to 3-7 inches in the affected areas. A clipper system moving into the region is also expected to deliver light to moderate snow through Sunday night, particularly in the Adirondacks and western Mohawk Valley.

• Today (Saturday): High of 35°F, mostly cloudy with snowfall likely after 11 p.m. Roads may become slick overnight.
• Sunday: Light snow early, transitioning to rain in the afternoon. High near 40°F, with minor additional accumulations.
• Monday: A wintry mix of snow and sleet before 10 a.m., followed by rain. High of 40°F.
• Tuesday: Rain likely, with temperatures rising to 46°F.
• Wednesday: Rain continues, with a chance of snow late. High near 47°F.
Residents should stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions. Use caution when traveling, and allow extra time during peak snowfall. Winter weather advisories remain active until 4 p.m. today for Herkimer and Fulton counties.
